Manuela Vanegas halved the deficit within a minute of Liverpool’s second. Madison Haley nodded her fourth goal of the competition to equalise. As the game was looking to be heading for extra time, substitute Nadine Noordam scored deep into injury time to send the Seagulls to their first Women’s FA Cup Final on 31st May. They now face league champions Man City in the final, after they beat Chelsea by the same score.
Vidosic: “We feel for Liverpool”
Vidosic said “That was something that you want to do it for, to see the happiness and to see they joy. I think a lot of people were very complicated as well about the way we played and it’s good to watch.
“It was really nice. I sort of took a step back and just watched everyone celebrate and the happiness and I think that, in the end, that’s what it’s all about.”
Vidosic did have some kind words for Liverpool, who were disheartened losing in such a fashion. He said “We feel for Liverpool. It’s never easy to get knocked out of this stage, especially when you can see it very, very late, but I think they should be proud as well of everything they have achieved.”
The Seagulls switch their sights back to the WSL. They finish their season off with a home game against Tottenham Hotspur at the Amex on Saturday. However, Vidosic is keen for everyone to enjoy the moment.
He added “I feel like happy for the girls, for the fans, for the club. It’s more a sense of joy for everyone else, in a way. When there are these moments, I don’t want the attention to me. I want to give it to the players who deserve it, for the club and everything that they provide for us. It’s nice to see a lot of joy, a lot of smiling, a lot of happy faces. It gives us now a fantastic chance to be the first team to bring silverware to the club as well.”
