Brighton Women Sign Sophie Peskett From Ipswich Town

Brighton Women have completed the signing of Sophie Peskett from Ipswich Town, with the winger becoming Dario Vidosic’s fifth arrival of the summer transfer window.

Albion confirmed Peskett’s move from Ipswich on their official website, with the deal still subject to the usual regulatory processes.

The 23-year-old leaves Ipswich after seven years with the club, having made 127 appearances in all competitions. Ipswich have received a club-record transfer fee for Peskett, who played a major role in their rise through the FA Women’s National League system.

Peskett was part of two promotion-winning Ipswich sides and made 21 appearances in Barclays WSL2 last season, scoring five goals. Her arrival gives Vidosic another wide attacking option as Brighton continue to reshape their squad for the new Women’s Super League campaign.

Vidosic Adds Another Attacking Option

Brighton have been busy across the summer, with ReadBrighton recently covering how the club’s July arrivals gave Vidosic a sharper WSL reset before pre-season.

Peskett now adds another layer to that work. She brings WSL2 experience, end product from wide areas and a record of consistent development across a long spell at Ipswich.

Speaking after the deal was announced, Vidosic said: “Sophie is a good attacking outlet – she got a decent return of goals and assists last season in WSL2.

“We believe she can make the step up to the WSL and we’re excited to give her the platform to test herself at the highest level.”

For Brighton, the signing continues a clear push to add depth, energy and competition before the new season begins.
