Brighton’s pursuit of Luka Vuskovic has moved from a valuation stand-off into a pressure play.
According to Sky Sports, Albion’s improved package for the Tottenham Hotspur centre-back is worth £45m including add-ons, with the Croatia international keen on a move to the south coast.

Fabian Hurzeler Gets Clear Centre-Back Signal
The Standard has since reported that Vuskovic is prepared to submit a transfer request after Brighton’s third bid, with the 19-year-old seeking regular football rather than another holding pattern.
That is the key Brighton lever. After Jan Paul van Hecke’s £52m Tottenham move, Albion have tried to keep control of a defensive rebuild that cannot become reactive before European football returns.
Vuskovic’s appeal is obvious inside Brighton’s model. He spent last season on loan at Hamburg, has already stepped onto the World Cup stage with Croatia and offers the age-profile Albion usually prefer when paying aggressively for upside.
Spurs can still hold firm, particularly with Vuskovic under long-term control. But player pressure changes the shape of the negotiation. Brighton should not overpay, yet if Fabian Hurzeler wants a front-foot defender with resale value and immediate ambition, this is the moment to test whether Tottenham’s crowded depth chart has created their opening.
