Brighton assess Femi Azeez as Coventry City trip offers injury relief

Brighton and Hove Albion winger Femi Azeez is pushing to make his debut against Coventry City on Sunday following a minor hamstring issue.

The 25-year-old missed the recent Premier League clash with Leeds United due to a slight problem sustained before his deadline-day transfer from Millwall. His availability gives manager Fabian Hürzeler vital depth on the flanks. Key wide attackers Yankuba Minteh and Kaoru Mitoma remain unavailable for the upcoming trip to the Coventry Building Society Arena.

Hürzeler Evaluates Winger For Coventry Debut

The Seagulls secured Azeez on a four-year contract, and his impending return eases the immediate strain on the squad. Hürzeler is already managing an ongoing fitness list across his first team.

“Femi is obviously carrying a slight injury at the moment. We have to wait this weekend, and hopefully he will be available for the next game ,” Hürzeler told Daily Post Nigeria.

The head coach praised the direct output his new signing will bring to the tactical system.

“Femi, he’s a winger, he can score off the right or the left foot. He has really good decision-making in the final third. He’s a hard worker,” he added, as published by Punch Newspapers.

While the club focuses on securing core midfield depth, Azeez must complete full training sessions before cementing his spot in the matchday squad.
