Brighton U18 come from behind to beat nine-man Arsenal 2-1

Brighton U18 mounted a spirited comeback to defeat nine-man Arsenal 2-1 on Saturday, in a dramatic academy encounter.

Early Pressure and First Half Dismissal

The Brighton Academy prospects began with intent on home soil as Jacob Parsons and Brook Smith created promising early openings. Arsenal U18 suffered a major setback ten minutes before the interval when Nwaneri collected a second yellow card for a late challenge on Morby. Juran McKayle then struck the post as Albion pressed.

Second Half Goals and Rudin Magic

Arsenal broke the deadlock after the restart when defender Abraham Owusu-Gyasi turned in Maalik Hashi’s corner from close range. Albion answered instantly through Daniel Rudin, who bent a spectacular equaliser into the top corner from the edge of the penalty area.

Second-half fightback

Albion pressed forward relentlessly with their numerical advantage. Echoing senior form where Brighton Ignite Campaign as Hürzeler’s Dynamic Attack Rips open defences, the junior Seagulls displayed remarkable tactical maturity.

Oppong Winner and Late Red Card

Substitute Rafaelle Oppong sealed the victory with eight minutes remaining by prodding home from close range. Arsenal goalkeeper Jack Talbot was subsequently shown a red card for his protests. With buzz growing as Brighton’s Carabao Cup Trip to Man Utd Confirmed, the youth ranks celebrated a hard-fought league triumph.
