Brighton are monitoring Boca Juniors midfielder Tomás Aranda after Arsenal and Aston Villa were also linked with the Argentine prospect.
Brighton’s interest in Tomás Aranda has alerted Boca president Juan Román Riquelme, who wants to retain the academy graduate.
El Intransigente reports that Albion are closely following the 19-year-old’s development. Boca consider Aranda an important player for both their immediate plans and the club’s future.
Aranda has established himself in the senior side since making his professional debut in January. He has recorded one goal and two assists, while his contract runs until December 2029.
The midfielder is also protected by a reported €17million release clause, worth around £15million. That figure could attract further Premier League interest if Aranda continues to receive regular first-team opportunities.

Aranda’s age and technical profile suit Brighton’s established recruitment strategy. Albion have regularly targeted young players before their values increase following greater senior or international exposure.
The Seagulls are also assessing several midfield options this summer. ReadBrighton recently reported that Brighton are preparing a possible club-record move for Lucas Bergvall, although no formal offer for the Tottenham player has been confirmed.
Aranda would represent a considerably cheaper development signing. He can operate in attacking midfield or from the left and has earned praise in Argentina for his confidence in possession.
Boca remain in a strong negotiating position because of his long-term contract. Riquelme is reluctant to lose another valuable academy player before Aranda has become fully established at La Bombonera.
No Brighton offer or direct negotiations have been reported. Arsenal and Aston Villa have also been credited with interest, increasing the prospect of competition if any club decides to activate his clause.
Brighton’s interest in Tomás Aranda therefore remains at the monitoring stage. However, his reported price and development potential make him a realistic target within Albion’s recruitment model.
