Brighton & Hove Albion are reportedly among the Premier League clubs interested in signing highly rated Genk midfielder Konstantinos Karetsas.
The Seagulls are monitoring the Greece international alongside Everton, Chelsea and Liverpool. Genk reportedly value their academy graduate at between €35million and €40million.
Transfer reporter Ekrem Konur claims that several English clubs are keeping tabs on Karetsas, although no formal Brighton offer or direct talks have been reported.
The 18-year-old primarily operates as an attacking midfielder but can also play from the right. His technical quality and age place him firmly within Brighton’s established recruitment model.

Karetsas enjoyed an excellent 2025/26 campaign in Belgium, producing 14 league assists for Genk. His creativity and ability to carry the ball through central areas have attracted attention from several leading European clubs.
Borussia Dortmund are reportedly in negotiations over a possible move, while AC Milan have also shown interest. Brighton may therefore need to act quickly if they intend to turn their monitoring into a concrete proposal.
Genk retain a strong negotiating position after extending Karetsas’ contract until June 2029. The long-term agreement helps explain why the Belgian club can demand a fee approaching €40million.
Brighton are already assessing several young midfielders. ReadBrighton recently reported that Albion are also considering a move for €30million Barcelona midfielder Marc Casadó.
Karetsas would offer greater attacking freedom than Casadó and could provide another creative option behind Brighton’s forwards. However, the reported valuation would require a major commitment for a player still at the beginning of his senior career.
Brighton’s interest remains at an early stage. Any serious move would place them in direct competition with some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
