Marc Casadó has emerged as a potential Brighton & Hove Albion target as Barcelona consider offers for the highly rated midfielder.
The 22-year-old faces considerable competition for regular minutes at Camp Nou and has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs.
According to Fichajes, Brighton are among the English sides monitoring Casadó alongside Fulham, Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Everton.
Barcelona are reportedly seeking more than €30m for their academy graduate. That figure would represent another major investment for Albion following their club-record summer move for Luka Vušković.
However, no Brighton offer or direct negotiations with Barcelona have been reported.
Casadó could fit Hürzeler’s midfield plans
Casadó operates primarily as a defensive midfielder but can also provide cover at right-back.
His passing under pressure and willingness to regain possession could suit Fabian Hürzeler’s approach. He would also give Albion another option at the base of midfield if Carlos Baleba or Matt O’Riley leave before the window closes.
Brighton are already considering several midfield profiles. ReadBrighton recently reported that Albion remain interested in Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara, who carries a higher reported valuation.
Casadó’s own position could complicate any approach. He has publicly expressed a preference to remain with Barcelona and compete for his place, although his opportunities were limited last season.
A reported injury to Frenkie de Jong could also persuade Barcelona to retain greater midfield depth.
Casadó therefore remains an option rather than an advanced deal. Brighton’s interest fits their focus on young players with technical quality and resale potential, but Barcelona’s valuation and the midfielder’s desire to stay create two clear obstacles.
