Brighton have already had a first look at Zadok Yohanna on the grass, with the club’s new Nigerian winger stepping into training before Fabian Hurzeler’s full pre-season programme begins.
PUNCH Sports Extra reports that Yohanna has resumed work at Brighton’s training ground, with footage showing the teenager involved in reaction drills and team sessions while the 2026 World Cup continues elsewhere.
The update lands just weeks after Albion confirmed the 18-year-old had agreed a five-year contract until June 2031 after his move from AIK Stockholm. Sky Sports lists the deal among Brighton’s summer business at £21.5m, with Costinha also arriving and Jan Paul van Hecke, Jeremy Sarmiento, Adam Webster, Joel Veltman, Solly March and James Milner all among the exits.

Fabian Hurzeler Gets Early Yohanna Check
Yohanna’s timing matters because Brighton are reshaping the attacking picture before a season that includes European football. He arrives as a high-upside wide player rather than a finished Premier League starter, but early training involvement gives Hurzeler a cleaner window to judge how quickly he can absorb Albion’s pressing demands.
The club have already framed the signing around patience and impact. Hurzeler said Yohanna is still young and will need time to adapt, but also highlighted his pace, creativity and willingness to take players on.
That is the balance Brighton must strike now. Yohanna should not be overloaded before August, but his early presence gives Albion a valuable pre-season spark at exactly the point the squad is being rebuilt.
