Conference League Stage Confirmed: The Six Opponents
Brighton and Hove Albion supporters can look forward to great trips and some tough continental challenges following the UEFA Conference League league phase draw. Head coach Fabian Hürzeler now prepares his squad for six diverse fixtures split across Europe and The American Express Community Stadium.
Navigating European Travel: Away days across Europe
On the road, the Seagulls visit Madrid to challenge Getafe and head back to the Greek capital to face Panathinaikos. A demanding away fixture against Czech outfit Jablonec, who knocked Rangers out in the play-off round, completes a testing travel schedule.
Amex Showdowns: Monaco Headline Home European Fixtures
French giants Monaco represent the marquee home fixture on the south coast, while Romanian outfit Universitatea Craiova and Lithuania’s Kauno Zalgiris also visit Sussex. Craiova feature former Albion midfielder Tudor Baluta, whereas Monaco enter the stage having kicked off their domestic season with a 1-0 victory at Le Havre.
Squad Rotation and Tactical Demands for Fabian Hürzeler
Balancing domestic commitments alongside continental journeys will require careful rotation from Hürzeler. Albion will rely on enthusiastic backing at The American Express Community Stadium to secure vital points. Praising the vibrant home crowd from the qualifiers, Hürzeler said: “The fans created a very energetic atmosphere so they get what they deserve for their support through the whole season.”
