Brighton & Hove Albion’s record signing Luka Vušković has spoken directly to supporters for the first time since completing his move from Tottenham Hotspur.
According to Sussex Express, the Croatia international posted a short video message on Brighton’s official X account on Tuesday evening, thanking fans and promising to “make good memories together” once he reports for pre-season. The 19-year-old’s £46m move, which Sky Sports report could rise to £50m with add-ons, was completed on a five-year contract with the option of a further season, ending a Tottenham career in which he made no senior appearances after arriving from Hajduk Split in 2025.
Fabian Hürzeler Explains Brighton’s Plan For Vuskovic
Brighton head coach Fabian Hürzeler, speaking to the club’s official website, said he had followed Vušković’s progress closely and praised the teenager’s rapid development during last season’s loan spell at Hamburg, where he was named the Bundesliga’s Rookie of the Season. Hürzeler added that Vušković would need time to adjust to “the demands of playing for Brighton and the Premier League” despite the scale of interest surrounding the move.
The defender struck a similarly measured tone in his own message, telling fans “it was always Brighton” once conversations with Hürzeler convinced him the club was “special”. He had already been cleared for his Brighton medical following Croatia’s World Cup exit. With the Seagulls juggling Premier League and Conference League commitments next season, Hürzeler is expected to build his defence around Vušković and fellow summer arrival Michael Svoboda through pre-season in France.
