Brighton have confirmed the next stage of their pre-season plans, with Fabian Hurzeler’s squad heading to France for a private training camp.
Albion will play two behind-closed-doors friendlies during the trip. The club’s official update confirmed Brighton will face Annecy on 25 July and Strasbourg on 1 August.
The matches will not be shown live, but Brighton say highlights and post-match content will appear on the club website.
The France camp comes before Brighton’s first open pre-season fixtures at the Amex. Albion have already confirmed home friendlies against Roma and Bologna, with Roma visiting on 8 August and Bologna following on 15 August.
ReadBrighton recently covered how Brighton’s Roma and Bologna fixtures form part of the European countdown, with Hurzeler’s side preparing for an early competitive start.
Brighton Step Up Before Europe
The timing gives Brighton a tight pre-season window. Their Europa Conference League play-off first leg is scheduled for 20 August, before the Premier League opener against Aston Villa three days later.
That gives Hurzeler limited time to settle structure, fitness and roles before the campaign starts properly.
The private nature of the France matches should help. Brighton can trial combinations, manage minutes and work through tactical details without every selection clue becoming public.
Albion’s squad has already seen defensive movement this summer, with Hurzeler’s back-three options becoming an early theme of pre-season.
The Annecy and Strasbourg matches should offer the first controlled look at that work. The wider picture will become clearer when Brighton return to the Amex for Roma and Bologna.
