# Lassine Sinayoko Talks Hand Brighton Fresh Striker Test

**Brighton & Hove Albion are reportedly in the conversation for Auxerre forward Lassine Sinayoko as Fabian Hurzeler’s attacking plans continue to take shape.**

[Foot Mercato](https://www.footmercato.net/a5827034729894318307-aja-lassine-sinayoko-en-discussion-avec-plusieurs-clubs-francais-et-europeens) reports that Sinayoko is in discussions with several clubs in France and across Europe, with Brighton and Leeds United among the English sides showing interest.

The 26-year-old Mali international is under contract at Auxerre until 2027, but the French report frames this summer as the point where a departure has become increasingly realistic.

## Hurzeler Gets Clear Low-Risk Upside Call

Sinayoko’s numbers explain why Brighton would look. [FotMob](https://www.fotmob.com/players/923196/lassine-sinayoko) records 12 goals and four assists in Ligue 1 last season, plus 2,780 league minutes and a 7.17 average rating.

That is not superstar output, but it is a strong production base for a forward who can play with power, carry the ball and attack space. For Albion, the question is whether he adds a different profile around Georginio Rutter, Danny Welbeck and emerging options.

ReadBrighton has already examined why [Georginio Rutter faces a sharper role test after Zadok Yohanna’s arrival](https://readbrighton.com/2026/06/27/georginio-rutter-brighton-yohanna-leeds-decision/). Sinayoko would sit in that same conversation: not a guaranteed starter, but a flexible forward who could raise competition before European football stretches the squad.

At the right price, this is exactly the type of market Brighton should explore early.
